Title: Senior CISCO Network Engineer

Duration: 11 Months

Location: Austin, TX, 78754 (Remote Local)

This is a backfill request, so strong well-qualified candidates will likely be shortlisted.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Monitor and support enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure, including daily circuit health, remote-site connectivity, and network anomalies that could lead to service disruptions.
• Configure, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and related network equipment using Cisco CLI, SecureCRT, and OSI-based troubleshooting.
• Respond to outages and production issues, coordinate network solutions with internal teams and external organizations, and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation approximately every five weeks.

Minimum Candidate Characteristics:

• 8+ years supporting large enterprise network operations across local and wide area networks.
• 8+ years implementing, upgrading, and maintaining Cisco network infrastructure.
• 8+ years monitoring network environments, resolving outages, and performing ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong hands-on experience using SecureCRT, Cisco CLI, and OSI-based troubleshooting methods.

Exceptional Candidate Characteristics:

• CCNA, CCDA, CCNP certifications.

Responsibilities:

The network engineer is responsible for supporting the agency's network operation, security, maintenance and collaboration with other agency departments and external organizations to provide a secure and effective network solution. This would include responding to remote site circuit outages, router/switch/firewall issues, configuring and monitoring core to remote network equipment and similar tasks. The network engineer also monitors the circuits daily to check for anomalies that may cause outages. This role also assists in providing any network support for all programs used in all client.
